[DMANET] Research Assistant / Programmer Position in Nottingham - Computer Science & Operational Research

Position: *Research Assistant / Programmer*

Salary: £27000 - £32000 per annum
Location: Microlise, Eastwood, Nottingham
Job Term: Permanent
Additional Salary Information: 24 days leave, increasing to 29 days;
PMI; EAP; Pension; free car parking

Development Team could be for you!

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

- Development of computer algorithms and programs
- Analysis of large datasets using appropriate tools and technologies
- Problem modelling and solving
- Specifying creative and practical solutions to technical and
operational problems
- Assist in technical research into areas of interest to the business
- Preparation of reports and presentations
- Assist in managing R&D projects and activities


Essential Criteria:
- BSc/MSc in computer science, operational research, analytics, or a
related discipline
- Good knowledge and experience in programming, problem solving,
modelling and analytics
- Proven investigative, programming, analytical and problem solving skills
- Systematic approach to information gathering and project management
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong and up to date knowledge of software development and IT systems
- Excellent interpersonal skills and be a good communicator and
presenter, being able to explain complex technical subjects clearly to
both technical and non-technical staff at all levels
- Adaptable and flexible to respond to the changing needs of a dynamic business

*Desirable Criteria:*
- C#.NET, Microsoft SQL and analytical packages
- Knowledge of vehicle telematics systems and transport logistics
