PhD positions in Quantum and Postquantum Cryptography (U Tartu, Estonia)

*** University of Tartu, Estonia
*** PhD positions in Quantum and Postquantum Cryptography

The Cryptography group at the University of Tartu, Estonia, is looking
for two Ph.D. students in the area of quantum cryptography /
postquantum cryptography.

(For internships or visiting phd positions, contact us directly.)

The Cryptography group in Tartu (senior members: Dominique Unruh,
Helger Lipmaa, Sven Laur) does research on a variety of cryptography
related topic, such as quantum cryptography, verification, foundations
of cryptography, cryptographic protocols, e-voting, etc.

The positions are part of a project to explore the possibilities and
limitations of quantum cryptography (beyond the applications known
today), and to explore how to construct cryptographic protocols that
are secure even after the advent of quantum computers (postquantum
cryptography).

The positions are funded with 1000 Euro per month net which in Estonia
allows for a good standard of living. (Dormitory rooms are available
for less than 100 euros a month, while reasonable apartments can be
rented for 200-300 euro a month.) PhD students will be covered by
standard health insurance. Some travel money will also be available.

Applications will be considered as they arrive and until the positions
are filled.

See http://www.cs.ut.ee/~unruh/positions.html for more information and
application instructions.

Do not hesitate to contact us in case of questions.
