[DMANET] Open position: Scientific Assistant, EG 13, October 1, 2012, Institut für Mathematische Optimierung, Braunschweig

Starting October 1, 2012 the "Institut für Mathematische Optimierung" of the
TU Braunschweig has a vacant position for a
 
       "Scientific Assistant" (TV-L EG 13).
 
The position is limited for a two year-period but in principle includes an
option for longer employment.
 
Teaching obligations include lectures and exercises in English and German.
Therefore, profound knowledge of both languages is a must. Sufficient
knowledge of programming languages, in particular in C, is taken for
granted.We are offering the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree or more
advanced scientific qualifications.
 
We are looking for applicants with an above-average degree in mathematics or
a related area (master's degree or equivalent, e.g. the German Diploma), who
have a solid knowledge in Discrete Optimization. Interest in and capability
for scientific work on topics in recent research areas of the institute are
required for the expected engaged participation in all our activities.
